Catherine Lootens
Catherine Lootens is working as project officer at the Light & Lighting Laboratory (KU Leuven - Ghent), where she started end 2004 as coordinator for a 4-year Flemisch funded innovation project about energy efficiency in lighting. This was the start of a chain of collaborative projects within the VIS (Flemish innovation partnerships) program of VLAIO (Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship) for stimulation of innovation and partnerships in lighting (lighting control, led, connected lighting) with funding from 50 to 80%. The remaining co-financing was always provided by a consortium of SME, associations and big players in the lighting value chain. For the last funded project (2017-2020) about connected lighting, the consortium was acting as the innovative business network and became the basis for the association Groen Licht Vlaanderen which counts over 80 members. Catherine is still acting as cluster coordinator and is also active as board member. She represents the cluster in the international cluster ELCA (European Lighting Clusters Alliance) and local associations. -
