This introduction will focus on the goals of the "SHAPE-THE-LIGHT, art for light, light for art" project, funded within the EU CREA-CULT COOP 2023 programme.

Part 1 will discuss:

• • The Energy Labelling and Ecodesign regulations for lighting in a nutshell
  • The upcoming revision of the Lighting Regulations: the Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR)
  • Overview on RoHS restrictions..and exemptions.
  • (Stage lighting still exempted?)

Description: 

This interactive showcasing will discuss the approach of the Belgian company Etap Lighting International concerning sustainability and circularity. The guest lecturer will showcase the change in mission and vision towards circularity. Circularity has taken centre stage in ETAP’s overall business strategy. They have adopted a circular-first approach to product design and move towards a circular business model to market their lighting and emergency lighting solutions  – the Circular Light as a Service (C-LaaS). The approach is based on the strengths they have always had as a company: the longevity of their products and the proximity to the customers.
