International ONLINE masterclass focused on how artistic lighting can create cultural, emotional, and urban value while embracing sustainability, ethics, and environmental responsibility.

Promoted by Clúster d’il luminación de Catalunya (CICAT) as part of the European project SHAPE-THE-LIGHT, this Masterclass brings together leading voices in Light Art, lighting design, and the culture of darkness, combining theory, real projects, and critical reflection on the use of light in public space.

Lezing rond het kwantificeren van lichthinder op beurs Openbare Ruimte (12 maart - Expo Brussel, Paleis 4)

Er is een algemeen spanningsveld tussen de menselijke nood aan kunstlicht en lichthinder. Om een trade off te vinden, is het belangrijk limieten te definiëren en deze te controleren. Afhankelijk van het soort lichthinder (sky glow, glare, light trespass) zijn metrieken al dan niet voorhanden.

Echter, ook m.b.t. het metrologisch aspect zijn er noden en aandachtspunten: geen algemeen geldende rechtstreekse link tussen luminantie en helderheidsindruk, ontbrekende spectrale overeenstemming van luxmeters die kan leiden tot grote afwijkingen (>20%), enz. Aandacht en kritische reflectie bij het evalueren van meetdata is daarom vereist.

Spreker is Frédéric Leloup, hoofddocent aan de KU Leuven en onderzoeksmatig verbonden aan het Laboratorium voor Lichttechnologie binnen het departement Elektrotechniek (ESAT). Zijn onderzoek richt zich op licht metrologie, waarbij hij enerzijds uniform toepasbare meetprocedures bestudeert en anderzijds metrieken en modellen ontwikkelt in overeenstemming met de visuele waarneming. Frédéric is lid van de Algemene Vergadering van Groen Licht Vlaanderen vzw, werkgroepdirecteur binnen het Belgisch Instituut voor Verlichtingskunde en Belgisch vertegenwoordiger in Divisie 1 van de CIE (Internationale Commissie voor Verlichtingskunde).

SHAPE-THE-LIGHT Deep-Dive Workshop

Deze opleiding biedt een actueel en samenhangend overzicht van de Europese productregelgeving die van directe invloed is op verlichtingsproducten. De focus ligt op Ecodesign, Energy Labelling, EPREL, herstelbaarheid (Right to Repair) en de eerste contouren van het Digital Product Passport.

Deze hybride opleiding combineert regelgeving met praktijkvoorbeelden, interpretatievragen en aandachtspunten voor implementatie. Deelnemers krijgen niet alleen inzicht in wat er verplicht is, maar vooral ook waarom deze regels er zijn en hoe ze in samenhang moeten worden toegepast.

An event dedicated to light, design and innovation professionals to explore how digital technologies are transforming the design and production of artistic lighting.

Promoted by LuceInVeneto as part of the European project SHAPE-THE-LIGHT, the Masterclass explores the new frontiers of the lightingdesign between AI, XR, IoT and additive manufacturing, with a concrete approach based on methods, tools and real application cases.

‘Circulariteit binnen de waardeketen van verlichting - aspecten van beheer en implementatie’

De verlichtingssector heeft de voorbije jaren, als beste leerling van de klas, enorme energiebesparingen gerealiseerd met de transitie naar led. Nu is het tijdperk aangebroken waarbij ook de circulaire transitie wordt omarmd. Dit manifesteert zich voor elk type stakeholders op een andere manier.

Met deze SHAPE-THE-LIGHT ‘fireside chat’ sessie (lees een soort van interview) willen we een integrator, fabrikant en voorschrijver, actief binnen de verlichtingssector, bevragen over hoe zij zich binnen deze vernieuwde circulaire economie bewegen en wat hun visie en aanpak is. De toekomst van licht begint hier

Op Future Lighting 2025 staan kennis & innovatie centraal. Dit komt mooi tot uiting in het programma dat wordt aangeboden. Van wetenschappelijke sessies tot oplossingsgerichte productpresentaties van onze exposanten. Ook dit jaar wordt het helemaal FUTURE met de Innovation Square.
Genoeg te beleven! Ontdek hieronder alvast een overzicht van onze activiteiten.

Future Lighting is hét Nederlands-Belgisch lichtevent op 19 & 20 november 2025 in Gorinchem. In samenwerking met NSVV, Fedet | NLA en Groen Licht Vlaanderen wordt een inspirerend kennisprogramma voorgesteld over de impact van licht op mens en dier. Duurzaamheid, welzijn en technologie staan centraal.

Lichtontwerpers, architecten en gebouwbeheerders, maar ook andere stakeholders starten met verdiepende sessies en bezoeken daarna de beursvloer, waar ruim 60 exposanten hun innovaties tonen.

Samen bouwen we aan de toekomst van licht, en die begint hier.

En samen is ook met de Vlaamse bezoekers en de Vlaamse delegaties op de standen van de bedrijven. Het doel is om professionals die actief zijn in en met verlichting bij elkaar brengen, ze doen samenwerken en vooral de sector verder helpen met onafhankelijke kennis. We ontvangen hierbij graag ook de (interieur-)architecten, elektro-installateurs, studiebureaus, preventieadviseurs, technische diensten, gebouwbeheerders, energiedeskundigen, productontwerpers, lichtontwerpers, facility managers....Kortom iedereen die actief is met of rond verlichting.

Het event vindt plaats in Gorinchem (NL) op woensdag 19 en donderdag 20 november. Dit klinkt ver, maar de locatie ligt slechts 20km voorbij Breda en dus ook bereikbaar voor alle deelnemers uit Vlaanderen.

Een goed afgestemd lichtontwerp is essentieel voor de beleving van een gebouw — zowel binnen als rondom. In onze nieuwste publicatie belichten we het belang van verlichting die niet alleen de architectuur versterkt, maar ook aansluit bij de behoeften van de gebruikers.

De lichtontwerper speelt hierin een sleutelrol gedurende het hele bouwproces. Altijd in samenspraak met de opdrachtgever, en met oog voor regelgeving, budget en uitvoerbaarheid. Een doordacht lichtontwerp is daarmee niet alleen functioneel, maar ook inspirerend.
